Long hair question?

my hair is half way down my back. it has three colours from previous dyes, blonde at ends, light brown, and darker brown roots. i want to dye my hair to even it out, but my hair is very damaged. the salon said regrowth due to antibiotics and my hair is shorter in many places. how do i bring back my healthy long beautiful hair? if i cut it, it wont make a difference theres lots of hair pieces very short by damage, and underneath very short pieces by regrowth. PLEASE HELP :(

Long hair question?

By your own admission your hair is 'very damaged'. You didn't mention how you maintained your hair in the past like conditioners, etc. Medicines likely didn't help but you really don't have control over those occurences.

You will not bring back 'healthy beautiful hair' you had on your scalp. Get yourself some quality hair conditioner, including a 'deep conditioner'. Try that for a week or so to help build-up the hair structure. That done, it is time to find a quality experienced hairdresser, explain the problem and follow his/her recommendations.

Since it has varying lengths I would strongly suggest you have a stylist cut your hair to get rid of the "damaged" hair. A good stylist has various options based on your hair's condition. If it means she/he recommends cutting, then go for it; it should grow back healthy as long as you are healthy.

Long hair (all hair) should be cut from time-to-time to remove damaged ends and more so to shape the hair. Not all hair on your head grows equally even healthy hair so it will be uneven. A good stylist can make your hair look good considering all the damage you have inflicted on it.

Because of the varying lengths you describe, you might consider a 'light' layer style while you go through the re-growing process to long hair. Layering will blend very well with the shorter regrowth.

First %26amp; foremost, make sure you go to a highly regarded stylist in a reputable Salon. This might cost a bit more but you sound like you have nice hair so it is worth it especially in this situation. Remember to get "tips" on hair maintenance from this stylist and follow it while you regrow -- those are free.

As for color, you didn't state if you 'home' colored or had it done at a Shop. It sounds like your hair is porous thanks to wear %26amp; tear of every day life, etc.. This will pose problems of evenly getting the hair coloured from tips to roots especially if you are a 'DIY' person. Cutting off the most damaged ends will simplify the 're-color' process for evenness. Again it is imperative to have a qualified stylist at this point in time.

Remember, it is only hair!!! It grows back!!

As it does grow back 'religiously' follow a good conditioning regime. Remember hair is a "dead" structure; you can't get damaged hair to fix itself!! You have to condition your hair, use quality products properly. There are so many excellent products on the market even in drug stores. Have fun!!

Good luck in the process of 'restoring' your hair. It will take time but think of all the styles you can experiment with while getting to long hair!!

Long hair question?

Sounds like this is a pretty dire case! As much as I hate to say it, this is a kind of 'start over' case. Cut off as much of the damaged hair as you can, then dye what's left your NATURAL COLOR. And then let it grow - without dying it! Use a lot of restorative conditioners.

Be nicer to your hair! :)

Long hair question?

you will have to cut it. cut off the blond peice for sure cause that is totaly damaged. your hair wil grow back as sure as you are alive so don't be afraid. give your hair some kind of therapy before you colour it again.
