I don't know if it would look good , I can't see you , but I do know I cut my Long hair for someone once and I HATED it , but I was stuck with it for a long time .Never let another person tell you how to look , judge that for yourself. They don't have to look at it in the mirror ,you do. Think long and hard about it before you do it .

It depends on the shape of your face I think - I personally can't stand layers; but my hair never gets past my shoulders.

And your brother should not have the final say about your hair. It is your choice what you do with it.

Long hair gives you more options. Because my hair has always been short/medium, I've never been able to do anything with it.
