My daughter has a wad of gum in her hair and I need to remove it without cutting her long hair. I tried to comb it out using leave in conditioner without any luck. Any suggestions?

You need to use ice to freeze the gum, which counters the stickiness of it. Try an ice-pack or pack of frozen peas etc. It will still need quite a lot of work to ease it out, but it will be much easier than with warmer gum.

here are a few different ideas. [just in case one doesn't work.] =] don't give up!

1. massage peanut butter into the gum and then use a comb.

2.olive oil. [and after the gum is out, use something like dawn dishwashing liquid to get the oil out.]

3.hairspray. [i know it sounds like it would just make it worse, but i've actually used this before and the hairspray makes the gum fall apart.]
