I am in my 30's and have long good conditioned hair, it has no grey (yet!) and I go to the salon regularly, but a 'friend' told me that she thought long hair on anyone over 25 is a bit like hanging on to your youth!' cheeky c*w!
What do you all think, I just suit my hair and like it long!!

I hear women cut their hair short when there 40 or over. Its a simple cut right up to their neck.

I've often heard that women over 30 should cut their hair and keep it short, as it help to make her look younger.
As for myself, being a male, I think that an older lady with very well kept longer hair is quite attractive.
If you like your hair long and it makes you feel good, don't worry about what your friend says, as I'm sure it looks quite fitting on you.

I agree with your friend, between ages 35-40 a women needs to seriously reconsider her hair style if it is still long.

Hey...if YOU want your hair long...keep it long. If she doesn't like it....tough noogies! You are old enough to do what YOU want to do.... without any "advice" from anyone else.

I am 32 years old, soon to be 33 and I think, honestly, that long hair that is all one length on a woman in her 30's is not very chic. Sometimes it actually can look dated.
There are so many awesome long length styles nowadays. Maybe get some layers, bring the length up a tad. Some wispy bangs...use a flat iron for that shiny pressed look. As long as the hair is not too long and Crystal Gale-ish or Cher in her Sonny and Cher days, longer hair after 25 will look great.

Hair (and style period) is all about attitude. Their is no certain age. If you know how to rock your "Diva" the rules don't apply. Do YOU. If you have the confidence to pull it off, go with it. Good luck.

Ignore your friend. My nana had waist-length, wavy gray hair and it suited her just fine.
Actually, I remember reading an article once that talked about how telling older women to cut their hair was society's way of telling them to "cut off" their sexuality. Obviously, this doesn't always apply in an age where women may spend their entire lives maintaining an extremely short cut, but I think it's probably still relevant for those who like to keep their hair long.
