I am now in my mid 40's when do I need to get my hair cut short? Mid life crisis is now occuring. I am attached to my long thick locks but wold cut it all of for the right man.

I think long is okay, as long as it is healthy, not streaked with grays, and has a style. Style is the key. An updated style that is! If it's all one length and just hanging there, frizzy, with split ends, then it's time to cut it. But, if you have a cute cut with long layers and maybe some side swept bangs and its nice and shiny, then great. Nice hair takes some styling, though. So if you aren't into that, you should be:) Go to a quality stylist (this may cost some $$) and ask them their opinion, and keep up on the trims. The men will come running at your put together look!

I have yet to find very many men who like short hair over long hair...they love it! Keep your long hair if it's "you"...age has nothing to do with your hair length.

Hey sister, I hear ya. I just cut my long hair a little over a week ago. Why? 'Cause I was tired of waking up with my hair wrapped around my neck and all over my face. I put it in a ponytail and cut it off! Then, I donated it to Locks Of Love, which makes wigs for kids with cancer. It was only 16 inches of hair, but some little girl will get a kick out of being able to have braids %26amp; ponytails, so it was worth it. Besides, look at it this way...it grows back, right? It took me only 3 years to grow it that long. What's 3 years? You goin' some place? The way I look at it, there's no right age for long or short hair. I've seen a few ladies with very long white hair. It was clean and shiny, and not at all wiry or wild. I think I know what you're thinking of, though. I look at some ladies, and they've got that "old lady" hair thingy going on, with short, tight curls that looks too much like a bad wig. No way girlfriend will that ever be me! I'll wear a stocking cap before I get hair like that! One more thing...if a man don't like you the way you are, he ain't worth your time. %26lt;*)))%26gt;%26lt;

You know what? There's no rule that says you must have short hair once you reach a certain age. Cutting your hair short is kind of a secret psychological signal in this country that says, I am no longer a desirable woman. What ever misogynist made up the rule was wrong!

If you like your long hair there is no reason why you shouldn't keep it. My sister is 45 and she has beautiful long hair. Cher is in her 60s and she has long hair. There are many women who are over 20 with long hair and they look fabulous!

Please don't think you have to cut your hair. If you get some catty old bat whispering about it, so what? Don't let their jealousy make you do something you don't want to do.

You do not NEED to ever cut your hair. You cut it when %26amp; if you want to. Just becareful, I had very long hair and cut it, I have regretted it ever since.

Please, run, don't walk to your nearest full service salon, not in a mall, or a nursing home and ask them to advise you and do a mini makeover. They will determine a great cut, and color for your face shape and hair texture. You'd be surprised what a great cut can do for you!
