bleached hair is unlikely to be usable by Locks of Love. Colored hair that is damaged is also unusavle. A link to their guidlines is provided below.

You should cut it to wherever you are most comfortable. Take your hair and rais and lower the ends to see how it looks. The guidlines only specify minimum length, longer lengths will be greatly appreciated.

As a note I have found that most people believe that Locks for Love makes Wigs for children with cancer. This is incorrect, they only make wigs for children with permanant hair loss, predominantly alopecia areata, an auto immune disease which destroys the hair folicales. In their 10 year history Locks for Love has provided 2000 wigs to children at reduced cost after submission of 2 letters of recommendation and an essay.

Don't go shorter than your chin...if possible...not shorter then your shoulders. Hair should grace the clavicle for most sexiness

If it has streaks in it, then don't send it. Only 20% of the hair that is sent is actually used. Since your hair has unnatural color in it, they won't take it. They only take very healthy hair without color in it. They will just throw your hair away.

Locks of Love needs at least 10 inches for them to be able to use it, so you need to cut at least that much.

When I cut my long hair for Locks of Love, I cut it to shoulder length. I wouldn't recommend cutting shorter than that - it will feel very different not to have your hair touching your shoulders, and you will have to learn to style it differently.

To the poster who said they would throw your hair away, according to their website, they can take any color/type of hair. If they cant use your hair to make wigs for kids for some reason they sell it at fair market value and use the money to help fund their operation (making wigs is expensive).
