How do you cut long hair by flipping it over?

I once got a great cut by a stylist who had me flip my hair over and she only used one cut. I ended up with the best layers. How is this cut accomplished?

I have a friend who is a beautician and she does this on the "side". We actually work together at a major cell phone company and I was in shock one day when she put a co-workers hair in a ponytail...my co-worker then flipped her hair over and my friend just CUT the pony tail .....about two inches off the end. She then took the hair down...shook it out and it was BEAUTIFUL. Perfect layers. I don't know that I would have the nerve to try it but good luck!

NOT BY YOURSELF!

She can see things from a different perspective that you cant when in that same position.

The cut is not only one cut across the hairline... it is a downward angle that you can't properly do yourself from that position with the perspective needed to do it right...

Trust me... don't do it yourself!

Pull your hair into a ponnytail on the top of your head, with your head flipped over, make sure that you have all the hair and that it is even, then the ends`of your hair, will look kinda like a triangle, cut that off... And it will be a great long layer... I would recomend haveing help....
