I cut my LONG HAIR....And now I REGRET IT...HELP.!!!!!!!!?

I did it because I live in a HOT climate and my hair was down to my waist...it was just getting too heavy, too long and too much of a nuisance to keep. I needed a change and when it all came off, it was a weight off my shoulders (literally!)...it's so much easier to maintain!.I cut it to the end of my bra strap..BUT I use to hide behind my hair and now it feels like that security is gone...And I dont think I look as good without long hair..Im scared to go around people I know because I dont want them to say they dont like it or it is ugly..How can I stop regreting it and grow to like it??How can I stop caring about what people will say?

ok well since you live in sucha hot climate its really a good idea to cut your hair. i know its hard to go from long hair to short hair. i really think that the reason you care so much is cuz you have had long hair for so long and its part of what you think your identity is. a lot of people feel like that when they cut there hair after growing it for a long time. but the most important thing now is to make your new identity as a strong confident short haired woman. and as for people thinking its ugly, hunny do u live for what others think about you?? if you do then that is another problem. if they are real friends they will love you for what a wonderful woman you are and not how long or short your hair is!

Well first off there's not much you can do anyways you already cut it off, your gonna get use to it no matter what.

I did that to my hair, it was down that far and I cut it up to my ears so and I liked it and it was easier to maintain but it does grow back.

WHO CARES what other people think. Experiment, put it up, brush it back, platt it %26amp; put it in a way that feels comfortable for YOU.

I'm sure it looks way healthier and totally cute now! You only cut it to your bra strap - that's not so short! You will get used to it - the shock of seeing your new 'do with wear off. Play around with different styles and soon you will love it. BTW it's great that the "security" is gone - you can grow and blossom now that your security blanket is gone!! Nobody is going to say they don't like it or that it is ugly, and if they do, then fuggem!! Who needs their opinion anyway? Work that hair girl!

I know how you feel. Just stop regretting what you did, and think of how good your hair looks, and don't listen to other people's comments. Do new styles, and embrace your hair.

There's nothin wrong w/ short hair...mine is right under my ears...i like my hair, besides i look like a 20year old!! LoL! When i went on a cruise these old people came up to me and told me i was so pretty and if i was 19 or 20 years old...i told them...no! lol! i walked off quietly laughin...it was funny. Look at my pic...i'm w/ my guy friend and i have the short brown hair.

Oh, i also have gotten MANY comments on my short hair, sayin that it's cute, and that i look older.

When i went to Bloomington, IL over the weekend, i was watchin my lil' brother on the playground playing w/ this lil' girl, and the girl's granda was there too sittin on the bench next to me...He asked me "so, is this your son? how old is he?" i looked at him and said "no! i'm goin to be a freshman in High". and he was like, oh...lol! i like my hair cuz i get weird comments out of it...lol!

you can get extentions, get them done at a place they look really nice if you get them done right.

Thats all up to you. Just accept you for you and not what you think people would accept you as. But if you dnt wanna do that you can always throw some weave on it. Then it'll be good as before

I'm sure your hair looks fine and it's still reasonably long. Are people really likely to tell you it looks bad? I don't think so. Strangers aren't going to care and your friends certainly won't criticize. Enemies don't count, as they would put you down regardless. Send me some photos of before and after and we'll make a decision. Ha. I'm only kidding. You just need to get used to it being so much shorter I think. It's a big change. If you decide you really don't like it shorter, it'll grow back. Until then try to have fun with it.
