Should I cut my long hair so it will look more professional in an office environment?

Yes. You don't have to cut it SHORT, you just have to cut it so that it is short enough to have plenty of shape and style to it. Long hair that just hangs is not professional.

Make sure the stylist knows you want to donate your hair to Locks of Love.

Well, you can always do up-do's with your long hair, but if you decide to cut it short, do it about shoulder length or a little longer..Don't want it too short.

No one over the age of 25 should have hair past your chest, it just looks tacky with aging. If you want to look more professional go for a cut slightly below your collarbone with fun layers that can be pull back during work hours. Versatile Hair.

Should I cut my long hair so it will look more professional in an office environment?

No of course not. Keep your hair long if you like it that way. if you wish to look neater or smarter just tie it back or in a french roll - very executive looking.

Long hair does not look unprofessional. Those of us with long hair just take a bit more time styling it. We can wear it long, or in an updo and still look very polished and professional.

you need to do what makes you feel more confident and comfortable. that will allow your profesionalism shine through, not a hair cut. just make sure you hair is always neat and clean.

If you want your hair long, remember that hopefully you will have your hair longer than your job.

If your worried about professionalism, why not tie it back?

As long as it's tidy and not in your face, it shouldn't matter--certainly not for a woman. Even if it's really long, you can pin it up stylishly.

Should I cut my long hair so it will look more professional in an office environment?

Don't really matter but long hair is annoying cuz it always get in ur face unless u hav it up.

No, you can put your hair up in many fabulous ways and have that "professional" look. Loose, long hair that is well groomed is not unprofessional. I think you are lucky to have such wonderful long hair.

I have long hair and work in an office environment and am still professional. Who says long hair isn't professional looking as long as its clean and kept up. If you don't want to cut it then don't.

Only if you really want to. You can pull it neatly back at work. Mine has always been long neat and clean, but not even pulled back.

You should wear you hair in any style that makes you feel good about your self. Weather it is long or short doesn't matter these days, when it comes to a professional setting. As long as your hair is clean and neat, it will look professional no matter weather it is long or short.

It all comes down to you feeling comfortable with in your own self, and what works for you.

Be at peace with in your self no matter how you wear you hair.

I'm none too sure as to why shorter hair would be considered more professional? If you've already got the job, proving you can do it is infinitely more important.

My missus currently has two small piercings in her nose and four in each ear. However, she's just saved her company two and a half million so no one gives a monkeys how she looks.

Basically, show your skill and no one is going to look at you disapprovingly.

i dont think have your hair long will affect proffessionalism in an office environment.

it depends on someone's behaviour..you could try different hairstyle also....without cutting it.

It is good that you consider your job and what is good for

your outlook there. However it is your hair and you should

do what you want. As many others have mentioned, you can

put long hair in very dignified looking ways, a french twist etc.

I am thinking you will look very professional.

How long has your hair been long? How short are you talking? How long has it been since your hair was that short? And how bad does your hair look in the morning when it is short and you don't have time to shampoo, blow dry, etc.

These are the basic points my daughter and I consider each time we face this question. Her hair is short and cute [picture Stockard Channing as Rizzo in the movie Grease] no matter whether washed, finger combed or skips shower all together. Mine is a just-below-the-shoulder length bob because my curly hair is uncooperative about half the time in the mornings, washed or not, and I am really good at sweeping it into a French twist-ish bun.

Not much help, I know, but it really is a matter of preference and patience in the long run.
